I will begin my ride in the province of Tarragona, will end in Vigo, going through Burgos. I'll be crossing the Peninsule from one part to another. I'll start the trip without much previous planning and not knowing exactly the villages I will go through. As in Palestine, planning is almost impossible, so I decided to plan the trip as there. The march will be open to anybody who wants to join. It could be people from the villages I will pass through or others who want to follow a part of the path.
From Teruel to Burgos, I will join Salva el Mussennacitu, a storyteller
from Castellon who will ride by bike the path of the "Cid", explaining tales.
Along the march, where possible, I'll try to evocate the palestino-israelian theme with traditional tales, discussions, conferences or even with videoforums.
Beyond all this, there will be other activities. For instance, to carry one liter of water from the mediterranean sea (taken at the beginnning) and to pour it in the atlantic ocean at the end of the ride at the galician coasts. Doing this I want to show in a symbolic way that with good will and interest people can establish links. Even though they are far away from each other (in a physical and cultural way) and even though all seems so dificult, they are able to overcome all obstacles with perseverance and daily work.
The ride will end in Caldelas de Tui (Ponteverda) where I will join a seminar about sustainable lifestyle.
The travel begins on the 15th of August and ends at the beginning of September
- To do an oral transmission about the conflict which is taking place in Israel and Palestina.
- To create links between people, associations, firms, organisations, collectives and other unities willing to help the Israelian and Palestine organizations that work for peace and stop of violence.
- To inform, to advice, to canalize, to facilitate the people who want to collaborate about the theme in order to create contacts with israelian or palestinian organisations which are working hard for peace.
- To give moral supports and messages of hope to the people who are working for the peace and Israel and Palestine.
- To create a bridge (this is what means GISHUR) between people and organisations from here and from there, showing that distances can be overcome.
